Infant shoes recalled over choking risks

Posted on February 13, 2016 4:12 pm under Defective Child Care Products

Classic Characters Inc. has recalled over 4,000 pairs of its infant knit Elf Booties due to the discovery that the pompoms on the shoe may detach, which could lead to a risk of choking, according to a notice released by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission on February 9. The company has already received two cases of the pompoms detaching, although no infant injuries were reported yet.

The sizes of the recalled infant shoes range from 6 months to 12 months. The SKU number is 507665, while the style number is 28046; both are printed on the shoes’ price tag. The colors of the elf booties are green with red and white trim; the pompom decorations are yellow.

The recalled product was sold exclusively at Cracker Barrel Old County stores. Full refunds will be provided by Classic Characters upon the return of the item.
