Ice cream recalled over wood material

On February 4, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration issued a press release regarding H-E-B’s recall of its Creamy Creations Pecan Turtle ice cream due to possible presence of wood materials in the product. Although there are no reports of injuries or adverse illnesses associated with the ice cream, there is an increased chance of food-borne illnesses resulting from consumption of the product. The press release stated that the company is aiming for the best quality product and service, hence the voluntary recall.

The recalled pecan ice cream carries a UPC number of 0 4122051877 7 and Sell By dates of 20 April 2016, 10 May 2016, 07 June 2016, and 18 July 2016.

The FDA advised consumers to return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund. The company’s customer service may be contacted at 1-855-432-4438.
