On February 15, a 34-year-old man from Palmyra was driving a silver van on U.S. 45 at Highway 33 in West Bend when he struck an 18-year-old West Bend East student on the side of the road, according to a report by WISN. The West Bend East student was apparently filling up his red Honda with gas when he was struck by the 34-year-old man’s vehicle.
According to news reports, authorities ruled out the consumption of drugs or alcohol as possible reason for the tragic crash. A witness to the accident, Jason Stendahl, stated that the impact was significant, and that items of the young victim’s clothing were scattered around the accident scene. Another witness detailed that the 34-year-old man seemed to not be paying attention, which resulted in the crash.
