On March 10, police arrested rap artist Niatia Kirkland a.k.a. “Lil Mama” after she was seen driving at an excessive rate of speed in the Manhattan area, an article from PIX 11 reported.
The incident happened at around 4:00 a.m., not far from West 135th Street and Fifth Avenue. An officer reportedly noticed that the 26-year-old rapper/actress was driving a vehicle at a speed of 38 mph on a road with a speed limit of 25 mph. Kirkland, according to police, could not show her driver’s license, as it was suspended. There were no injuries or property damages reported before police took Kirkland into custody. Aside from her hit song “Lip Gloss,” Lil Mama is also known for playing the role of TLC member Lisa Lopes in a biographical movie.
