According to an April 11th article in the Journal Sentinel, a female police officer in Madison recently sustained non-life threatening injuries when her patrol vehicle was struck by another vehicle driven by an individual suspected of driving while intoxicated.
Information coming from Madison authorities reveals that at about 3:00 a.m. on April 10, a two-vehicle accident involving a patrol vehicle happened at N. Bassett and W. Johnson Streets. Reports state that a 27-year-old motorist ran a red traffic light and struck the patrol vehicle.
The Madison Police Department confirmed that the female officer sustained a concussion as a result of the collision. Police later arrested the suspected drunk driver after he handed over his credit card to police instead of his driver’s license. Appropriate charges were later filed against the man who had previously been charged with OWI.
