At least three people in Wausau suffered injuries on April 29 in a 6-vehicle accident caused by a speeding driver. Police Lieutenant Matt Van Lieshout said the accident occurred around 7 p.m. on April 29.

A speeding vehicle rear-ended a fellow driver on U.S. 51, near the off ramp heading toward Bridge Street. Witnesses said the driver who caused the collision was driving fast in the northbound lane. Four other vehicles were involved in the accident after the first two vehicles entered an intersection and crashed into a lamp post. Lt. Lieshout confirmed that the injuries sustained in the accident were not life-threatening.
