The Mid-Day Women’s Alliance (MDWA) is expecting to host the executive director of the Wisconsin Bike Federation in Appleton to discuss the dangers of distracted driving and how that relates to bicyclists.
The meeting, which will be held at the Radisson Paper Valley Hotel on May 18, is expected to impart knowledge to participants regarding the susceptibility of bicyclists and pedestrians to the danger of distracted drivers. Distracted vehicle drivers often only get minor traffic violations when they hit a bicyclist, which the Wisconsin legislature has thus far failed to address as a serious priority. The two groups believe that drivers will likely improve their behavior if lawmakers choose to impose tougher penalties.
Bicyclists, unfortunately, are often left seriously injured after being involved in car accidents. If you are handling the aftermath of a bicycle accident, a Wisconsin lawyer at Habush Habush & Rottier S.C. ® may be able to help you file damage claims against negligent parties.
