Salmonella case detected in Wisconsin related to previous recall

Posted on May 20, 2016 10:48 am under Personal Injury

Wisconsin state officials revealed on May 20 that they believe the confirmed case of salmonella in Wisconsin was a result of consuming recalled food products.

According to the state’s Department of Agriculture, consumers purchased the recalled “Garden of Life RAW Meal” from online shops like Amazon and eBay. Earlier this year, the organic meal and shake replacement product was recalled after its salmonella contamination was discovered. Consuming salmonella-tainted foods is extremely dangerous for children under 5-years-old and adults over 65-years-old. Those who are infected by the bacteria are at risk of suffering from fever, diarrhea, and abdominal cramps. Federal authorities advised the public to immediately dispose of the contaminated products and see their physician if they accidentally consume the recalled food products.
