Mislabeled burritos that may contain cheese recalled in the US

Posted on May 28, 2016 9:33 am under Product Liability

Various burritos manufactured by “Sweet Earth Natural Foods” are being recalled after the presence of possible milk products (in this instance, cheese) was not disclosed on the item’s packaging, a May 27 article from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration reported.

The recall affects the 7oz “Big Sur Breakfast Burritos” that have a best before date of March 30, 2017, and lot number 6090. Reports said that the “Santa Cruz Burritos” containing cheese were wrongfully packaged. Individuals who have severe dairy allergies are at risk of suffering a serious allergic reaction that could endanger their life. The recalling company and the FDA did not receive any complaints of allergic reactions before issuing the recall. Consumers who might have bought the affected burritos are advised to not consume the product and notify Sweet Earth to get their money back.
