Osprey recalls child backpack carriers

Product Liability

Osprey has recalled about 31,000 child backpack carriers in conjunction with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).

Main Complaint: A cut in the plastic buckle on the shoulder strap can cause the strap to release, posing a fall hazard to the child in the carrier.
Model names: Poco AG, Poco AG Plus, and Poco AG Premium child backpack carriers
Country of origin: Vietnam
Recall date: 05-26-2016

All models have a metal frame and come equipped with a gray padded child’s seat inside. The recalled carriers were sold in REI and specialty outdoor retailers across the nation. They could also be purchased online at Amazon.com and REI.com from January 2016 to May 2016 for between $250 and $330.
