A late-night accident involving a Milwaukee County Transit System bus occurred on June 26, sending at least two people to the hospital and injuring several others.
At around 12:10 am, a vehicle going northwest on Fond du Lac failed to stop at a red light at 35th Street. It rear-ended a car that was stopped at the red light, causing a chain reaction of two additional collisions. One of those vehicles collided with a Milwaukee County Transit bus that was also stopped at the red light. Among those injured were three passengers on the bus as well as several others. Two people were taken to a local hospital for minor injuries and the others were treated by the Milwaukee Fire Department at the crash scene. An investigation is ongoing, and the driver of the vehicle who caused the accident was detained on the scene.
