IKEA recalls CHOKLAD MORK Dark Chocolate

Defective Food Product

On June 24, 2016, the Swedish company IKEA recalled all best before dates of dark chocolate bars after analyzed samples revealed the product contained unlabeled milk, almonds, and hazelnuts.

Description:  CHOKLAD MÖRK UPC Code 100293927003 and CHOKLAD MÖRK 70% UPC Code 1203080940009 Dark Chocolate Bars, Net Wt. 3.5 oz.

Individuals allergic to milk, hazelnuts, or almonds may have a severe or life-threatening reaction after consuming the product. IKEA sold and distributed the bars nationwide at their retail stores. At the time of the recall, IKEA knew of no complaints or reported incidents in the United States. IKEA of Sweden had one complaint reported in Japan. The bars in question do carry an advisory statement, which warns consumers that the dark chocolate may contain milk and tree nuts. IKEA is urging consumers to return the product as soon as possible, with or without a proof of purchase.
