Green Bay roller coaster closed for 2 weeks after crash

After a roller coaster accident that injured three people last week, a roller coaster at a Green Bay amusement park will be closed until next month.

Two roller coaster employees and one rider sustained minor injuries Monday when one train failed to stop and slammed into another train upon returning to the start of the Zippin Pippin ride at Bay Beach Amusement Park. Bay Beach is a city-owned park with a rich history along the Green Bay waterfront. WLUK-TV says the city is shipping the cars from the  roller coaster back to the manufacturer in Philadelphia for inspection and recertification before the ride reopens. According to WBAY, state inspectors are investigating the incident, and The Parks Department believes that the ride will be shut down for at least a week as they rectify the issue.
