A 31-year-old man was attacked with a machete on Friday evening, June 24, near N. Chatham and Laurel Avenue in Janesville.
After arriving at the scene, police found the Janesville man bleeding from several open cuts on his arms and hands. The victim was transported to Mercy Hospital where he was treated for significant, non-life-threatening injuries. Preliminary investigations revealed that the victim was involved in an argument about a theft shortly before the accident. The second man, now considered the primary suspect in the case, then retrieved a machete from inside a nearby residence on N. Palm Street and attacked the Janesville man with it.
