Over 200,000 defective jogging strollers in the U.S. are under recall by a Madison-based company after they received hundreds of complaints of the strollers causing injuries to consumers.
According to a July 7 report of cpsc.gov, the recall covers an estimated 217,600 units of Pacific Cycle jogging strollers with potentially faulty front wheels. The quick release components on the stroller’s front wheel may suddenly loosen, causing the wheel to detach when in use. The single- and double-child strollers manufactured by Schwinn and Instep are linked to 215 incidents of physical injuries, including lacerations, abrasions, and head injuries. Consumers who own the recalled strollers will receive a repair kit provided by Pacific Cycle.
