Reeseville teen killed after machine accident

Posted on July 8, 2016 11:33 am under Workplace Injury

On Monday, June 27 at 10:00 p.m., a Reeseville teen received life-threatening injuries after getting caught in a laser-cutting machine at a Columbus plant.

His peers, teachers, and family members were in shock after the incident. Investigators say that officials needed to employ the Jaws of Life to extricate the victim from the machine. “He didn’t have a pulse and the paramedics were able to bring back a pulse,” Lt. Weiner said. The victim had only worked at the plant for a month when the industrial accident occurred. “They want another run through of what happened, why it happened and what could have been done, but at this point, there is nothing to indicate it is criminal,” Lt. Weiner said. G.D. Roberts had no comment on the case as federal workplace safety officials continue to investigate.

The attorneys at Habush Habush & Rottier S.C. ® are saddened to hear of this incident and the loss to the community. Our thoughts are with the victim’s family and friends as they mourn the loss of a loved one.
