Thirty-five-year-old Kenosha resident Jennifer Kewenig was arrested at her home after police officials claimed she was involved in a hit-and-run accident that occurred around 4:30 p.m. on Friday, July 15. The accident happened at 22nd Avenue and 61st Street in Kenosha when Kewenig was drunk.
According to preliminary investigations made by the Kenosha Police Department, Kewenig rear-ended a car along 22nd Avenue and 61st Street and then immediately left the scene. Witnesses said she had a child inside her vehicle when she committed the crime. Kewenig was given citations for hit and run with no injuries, driving while intoxicated, first offense, with a passenger under 16 years old, and operating a motor vehicle without insurance. The child, who was not harmed during the incident, was found by police authorities at home after the incident.
