A toddler was saved from drowning in a pool by lifeguards, nurses, and swimmers present at the scene on Tuesday, July 27th.
The two-year-old was given CPR by a lifeguard and a couple nearby nurses while help arrived and was breathing again, four minutes after the incident. He was responding as well as breathing upon arrival at the hospital, but remained there for a couple hours before he was transferred to Children’s Hospital as a safety precaution for 24-hour monitoring.
“A stressful situation and as much as your put people through training… and you never hope you have to do something that serious,” said Mike Hermann, Hartford Parks & Rec Director.
