In response to injury reports in relation to the plastic “Happy Meal” activity tracker toy, McDonald’s has replaced it. The complaints all contain reports of major skin irritation that began quickly and continued long after removing the toy.
“I started itching it at first in the morning and when I looked at it, I said, ‘What is this?’,” the seven-year-old Lauren Diener said. What was initially itching soon became burning and Lauren’s mother, Jan, expressed displeasure that the children’s toy would cause such damage. They’ve attempted to reach McDonald’s personally, but to no current avail.
A spokesperson for the company, Terri Hickey, said that McDonald’s was investigating the several incidents.
