M&M’S brand jewelry facing recall

Product Liability

As of August 25, 2016, Mars Retail Group, of Mount Arlington, N.J. recalled jewelry with the M&M brand, some of which is for children, due to a violation of lead standards.

Earrings, rings, bracelets, and necklaces are all affected and would’ve been sold between May of last year and July of this year. All affected items are branded with M&M’s “M” logo on the main charm or other areas and would’ve been sold at M&M’S® World Stores in New York, Orlando, Las Vegas, and Henderson, Nevada.

Lead levels in the jewelry are toxic, especially if consumed by children. No injuries have arisen so far. Mars Retail Group urges their customers to stop the use of the jewelry immediately and return it for a refund.
