Salmonella Risk in Asher’s Chocolates

Defective Food Product

In an announcement released on September 2, 2016, Asher’s Chocolates and Lewistown, Inc. voluntarily recalled several of their chocolate products because of a risk of Salmonella contamination in the Lewistown, PA producer.

The affected products include chocolate bars, cellophane-wrapped chocolates, individually wrapped chocolates, and others that were sold across the nation in retail stores. The production code (here is a list of affected items) can be found on the label.

Consumers should not eat any of the affected items and can expect a full refund if they contact Asher’s customer service line.
