Suspected OWI driver injured in rollover crash

Rollover Accidents

A Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office report revealed that the driver in a one-vehicle accident may have been intoxicated at the time.

The Brodhead man was injured just before 3 p.m. on Sunday, October 9, along a stretch of Highway 78 that ran through Argyle. The 22-year-old, Matthew J. Obel, had made his way into a ditch where he lost control and his car rolled over multiple times.

Obel was brought to the Monroe Hospital and was later cited for a first-offense OWI, driving after suspension, losing control of his vehicle, and driving on the wrong side of the road.
