A woman was sexually assaulted while on a metro bus in Madison on Monday, October 24 leading to an arrest.
Sandy Banks, the 55-year-old suspect, was forced to leave the bus after being told repeatedly by a female passenger to stop touching her. The driver, who both overheard the woman and forcibly removed the man, waited at South Mills Street after contacting the police.
The woman, a 50-year-old from Madison, recounted to an officer that Banks had been attempting to reach the woman’s chest multiple times and successfully once, over her clothes.
According to the police who arrested the man, there were signs that he had been drinking. They charged him with fourth degree sexual assault.
