The hit-and-run driver who hit a pedestrian woman and fled Tuesday night, October 25, is still at large.
The woman was hit on Williamson Street, within 1500 block according to Madison police, around 7:40 p.m. Police don’t know if she had been attempting to use a crosswalk or accidently went into the road.
The vehicle in question was described as a black SUV or potentially of any dark color. One witness had told the driver that he hit someone but, apparently unconcerned, the driver only briefly got out of his car before returning to the vehicle and driving away from the scene.
The woman should be able to walk away from the accident and police continue to search for a suspect. The driver of the SUV was described as a white person with an olive skin tone.
