A multiple-fatality accident occurred early Sunday morning, October 24 in the 200 block of W. Clybourn Avenue.
Involved in the crash was a Lexus, which was headed south and ignored a red light, and a Ford Fusion that was heading west on W. Clybourn. The driver and passenger of the Lexus left their vehicle and ran from the scene.
The operator of the Ford was a 41-year-old male working for Uber. He sustained non-life threatening injuries and was brought to the hospital along with one of his female passengers, a 30-something-year-old who would later die from her injuries. His two other female passengers, aged 30 and 32, would be pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation of the accident and the search for Lexus occupants began immediately.
Uber extended their sympathy to the families of the victims and expressed their support to the police authorities in the current investigation of the incident.
