Memorial in honor of man killed in crash held at Riverside Park

Drunk Driving Accident

The Saturday following a drunk-driving accident on November 10 in Janesville, a group of people gathered to mourn and remember the victim, Christopher Rabuck, who was a local historian with a large following.

According to police reports from the accident, 71-year-old Michael Perry had struck Rabuck as well as another vehicle and a power pole in the very early afternoon. Police confirmed that Perry had been drunk at the time of the accident and Rabuck died at the scene. Perry was brought to a hospital with his own minor injuries and was arrested upon release.

Due to Rabuck’s close relationship with the Riverside Park, president of Friends of Riverside Park, Sandy Hendricks, spoke about the personal project Rabuck had been working on in the time before the crash to improve the park. Rabuck’s family was extremely grateful to the community for their overwhelming support and talks for a memorial in Rabuck’s name and the financial needs of his family to hold a funeral has begun a crowdfunding campaign.

Our deepest condolences go out to the victim and his family, as well as his whole community, in their time of devastation. Our attorneys with Habush Habush & Rottier S.C. ® know how tragic the outcome can be when one mixes alcohol and driving.
