Product Recall: Two Million Pounds of Ready-to-Eat Chicken Products

Defective Food Product

National Steak and Poultry has issued an expanded product recall approximately two million pounds of its ready-to-eat chicken products due to a possible bacterial contamination.

According to the report, the products might pose a health hazard as they may be under cooked. The issue was first brought to the company’s attention on November 14 by a customer who reported that the product seemed to be under cooked.

The recall is meant to include all ready-to-eat chicken products produced from August 20, 2016 through all of November 2016. These products are marked with an establishment number P-6010T. The said items were sold nationwide and labeled with Distributed by National Steak and Poultry, Owasso, Oklahoma. A full list is available here.

The company urges the consumers to dispose these items as they pose potential health risks. Currently, no illnesses have been documented in relation to this recall.
