A Wisconsin teacher who was accused of sexually assaulting a student was sentenced to two years in prison last week. The suspect, who was identified as 29 year old Sara Domres, was an English teacher at New Berlin West High School.
According to reports, Domres’s relationship with her student, which lasted for almost a year, started when the victim was still a sophomore. The two exchanged more than 1,000 text messages and passed handwritten notes containing sexual content. The court documents also state that one of their sexual encounters took place on the night of her husband’s bachelor’s party.
The victim, a 16-year-old juvenile, was one of her students in English class in 2015. The police discovered their relationship after three juveniles reported the case last January 16.
