Barn fire reported in Greenleaf

Fires and Explosions

A fire in a Greenleaf barn broke out Wednesday night, Brown County officials say.

According to a report, a concerned passerby who happened to be near the blaze alerted the police about the situation at approximately 11:00 p.m. When local firefighters were dispatched at the scene, the building was already engulfed in flames. Fortunately, it was contained after 15 minutes.

The cattle were evacuated from the structure before the building was engulfed with fire. How the fire took place remains unclear but it was confirmed that no injuries have been reported.

The estimated damage of the loss has not yet been released as the investigation continues.

Luckily, no one was injured in the fire, but not all fires are so benign.
