A fatal two-vehicle car collision injured four people at the intersection of Oakwood Street and Highway 12/16, on Thursday, January 5.
Local authorities were dispatched to the intersection after receiving a report of the car accident. According to the report, a 2003 Ford Focus was heading south of Oakwood Street when it ran a sign and crashed into a 2002 Chevrolet K1500 that was traveling perpendicular to the Focus. The impact of the collision pushed the Chevrolet to a parking lot where it struck two vehicles parked in the area.
The Ford and Chevrolet driver, identified as 23-year-old Erin Vetters and 3o-year-old Richard Small respectively, sustained injuries. Two passengers from the Chevrolet, Jessica Small and Malakai Smith, were also injured. They were rushed to Tomah Memorial Hospital for treatment.
