Mesothelioma is an aggressive form of cancer associated with asbestos inhalation. Inhaled asbestos fibers can cause the cancer, which may lie dormant for decades before any symptoms are felt. Once mesothelioma is diagnosed, though, the individual usually has less than a year to live.

If you or someone you love has been affected by mesothelioma or another asbestos-related illness, the dedicated attorneys of Habush Habush & Rottier S.C. ®, may be able to secure the financial compensation you deserve. Understanding Mesothelioma

Mesothelioma takes its name from the mesothelium, the protective lining of the organs which is affected by asbestos inhalation. Only a few months of exposure to asbestos fibers can ultimately lead to mesothelioma, which typically remains latent in the body for at least 15 years, most commonly between 30 and 40. Once mesothelioma appears, the prognosis is generally not good.

Some of the most common symptoms of mesothelioma include:

  • Shortness of breath
  • Chest pain
  • Fatigue
  • Wheezing
  • Coughed-up blood
  • Abdominal pain

If you believe that asbestos exposure led to your illness, you may be entitled to financial compensation. You and your family should not be left to struggle with an illness alone.
