Jacob R. Reis is a managing partner at Habush Habush & Rottier’s Appleton office. He has been with the firm since 2005 and represents individuals and families in personal injury matters throughout northeastern Wisconsin. Jake has extensive trial experience and has successfully tried personal injury cases in Outagamie, Brown, and Winnebago counties.
Jake has been recognized by Milwaukee Magazine as one of Wisconsin’s top personal injury attorneys every year since 2006. Jake is active in the legal and local communities. He is also a past president of the Brown County Bar Association, the Outagamie County Bar Association, and the Marquette University Law School Alumni Board.
Before pursuing law, Jake worked as a social studies teacher for the Oconto Falls School District and coached high school football at Notre Dame Academy in Green Bay. He graduated magna cum laude from St. Norbert College with a Bachelor of Arts degree before earning his law degree, graduating in the top 10% of his class at Marquette University Law School. During law school, he received CALI Awards for academic excellence in Civil Process, Trial Skills and Strategies, and Advanced Legal Research.
Jake’s decision to become a personal injury attorney was shaped by a personal family experience. When he was a young child, his grandfather, Melvin Martin, was killed in an automobile accident. Jake saw the difficulties his grandmother faced while dealing with the insurance company afterward, an experience that inspired him to help other individuals and families navigate the aftermath of serious injuries and loss.
