A Milwaukee woman has filed a personal injury lawsuit in Milwaukee County Circuit Court alleging negligent security following an attack in the parking lot of Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center in October 2024.
The lawsuit, filed on behalf of the plaintiff by attorney Benjamin Wagner of Habush Habush & Rottier, alleges that Aurora Health Care failed to provide adequate security measures at the hospital campus. According to the complaint, the woman was attacked by two individuals while walking to her vehicle after visiting a family member at the hospital. She was allegedly struck, knocked to the ground, and injured during an attempted carjacking in the emergency room parking lot.
The suit further claims that security protocols were insufficient at the time of the incident, including allegations that a security guard station was not staffed and that surveillance cameras were not actively monitored. It also references prior reported incidents on the hospital campus, arguing that additional safety measures should have been in place.
The filing follows other recent safety-related concerns involving Aurora Health Care facilities, including a separate shooting incident at Aurora Sinai Medical Center in March 2025 that prompted renewed scrutiny of hospital security practices.
Aurora Health Care has stated that patient, visitor, and employee safety is a top priority and does not comment on pending litigation. The case remains ongoing.
