Attorney Benjamin Wagner, a shareholder at Habush Habush & Rottier, was inducted as a fellow in the International Academy of Trial Lawyers (IATL) on October 20, 2023. IATL is recognized as one of the most prestigious organizations of trial lawyers in the world.  The group is by invitation only and is limited to 500 fellows worldwide.  Wagner’s invitation is a recognition of his exceptional career as a trial lawyer and leader in the industry.

The Academy was established in 1954 as an honorary fellowship for lawyers within all areas of the trial and appellate bar. In addition to a great professional honor, membership is an opportunity for fellows to exchange disciplinary thoughts and innovations, as well as connect with other trial lawyers from around the world. To ensure all fellows hold the highest levels of professional integrity, courtesy, and notable trial abilities, admission standards are rigorously maintained. Daniel Rottier, a longstanding IATL fellow, introduced Wagner at the induction ceremony.

Wagner was nominated by Frank Daily, retired Senior Partner of Quarles & Brady: “Benjamin Wagner’s election is a well-deserved honor of the highest caliber to him as well as to his family, Habush, Habush & Rottier, his clients, and his fellow members of the Milwaukee and Wisconsin legal profession,” Daily noted. Robert Habush, retired Chairman of Habush Habush and Rottier, added, “This invitation is very much deserved, I have been a mentor to Benjamin and was instrumental in his hiring to Habush. He has exceeded all my expectations as a trial attorney.”

Wagner is a firm shareholder at the Milwaukee office: specializing in plaintiff representation in the areas of nursing home abuse and neglect, personal injury, wrongful death, and more. Reputably, Wagner has obtained dozens of favorable jury verdicts for his clients, including multiple seven figure verdicts on behalf of victims of negligence.

Wagner has received many professional acknowledgments throughout his 20-year career. In 2021, he was presented the Robert L. Habush Trial Lawyer of the Year Award- a prestigious accolade granted by the Wisconsin Association of Justice.

He has been a Super Lawyers honoree since 2013; and since 2012, he has been listed in each subsequent edition of Best Lawyers in America for personal injury litigation.

Wagner was appointed by Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers to serve on his Judicial Selection Advisory Committee in 2019, which interviews and recommends judicial candidates for all vacant state judicial offices. In 2023, the Governor appointed Wagner to serve as Co-Chair of this committee.

As a Milwaukee native, Wagner has held leadership positions for various legal, community, and civic organizations. He is a past President of the Wisconsin Association for Justice (Wisconsin’s largest voluntary bar association) and he currently serves as Chair of the Medical College of Wisconsin’s Neuroscience Research Center advisory board as well as the board of directors of Sojourner Family Peace Center, Discovery World, and the Hispanic Professionals of Greater Milwaukee.   The Milwaukee Business Journal awarded Wagner the prestigious “40 Under 40” award in 2016 for his advocacy of a better greater Milwaukee community.
