Madison, WI — Attorneys from Habush, Habush & Rottier S.C.’s Madison office, along with former firm chairman and president Robert Habush, recently visited the University of Wisconsin Law School to see the newly completed updates to the Habush Habush & Rottier Reading Room, made possible by a recent donation from the firm. During their visit, the attorneys toured the refreshed space and connected with students and faculty to experience the impact of the upgrades firsthand.
The Reading Room first gained the Habush name in 2006, though the firm’s support of the law school extends back decades. Habush was also a major donor during the school’s 1996 redesign, reflecting a longstanding commitment to keeping the law school’s facilities modern and supportive of student success. Over the years, the Reading Room has become one of the most beloved study spaces on campus; so much so that it has earned national recognition, including a place on ELLE Decor’s list of the “50 Best Libraries in the United States.” Its reputation stems in large part from the firm’s original vision and sustained investment.
Key improvements include:
Increased Seating – The removal of several book stacks created additional capacity, directly addressing student demand for more seating in this naturally lit, high-traffic space.
New Study Options – Privacy pods now provide quiet, individual workspaces where students can focus in a more secluded setting.
Enhanced Comfort – Reupholstered chairs make long study sessions more comfortable and inviting.
Beyond financial contributions, Habush attorneys have long supported the law school through teaching and mentorship. Robert Habush and Dan Rottier both served as adjunct faculty for many years, setting a lasting example of engagement. Their leadership has inspired more than 20 firm attorneys to teach as adjunct professors or instructors, further strengthening the firm’s ties to Wisconsin Law. With many Habush attorneys proudly counted among the school’s alumni, the firm remains steadfast in its commitment to supporting future generations of Wisconsin law students.
