Recently, our Racine Managing Partner, Attorney Steve Botzau, received the Racine County Sports Hall of Fame’s Deep Roots Award, an honor recognizing individuals who have made a lasting and meaningful impact on athletics in Racine County.

For more than 25 years, Steve has served on the Racine Youth Sports Board, (its longest-serving member) and currently serves as Vice President. His involvement has included everything from organizing major community events such as the Gus Macker 3 on 3 Tournament to handling the behind-the-scenes work that keeps local youth sports programs running smoothly.

A Racine native, Steve’s commitment to local sports started early. At age 12, he represented Racine as an all-star at the Small Fry Basketball National Championships. Steve also played varsity baseball and volleyball at Horlick High School. As a teenager, he worked at devine sporting goods, further strengthening his connection to the local sports community, a passion that has continued throughout his life.
With many Habush colleagues in attendance, including Firm President Tim Trecek, this recognition is one Habush is proud to celebrate. Steve’s dedication reflects the firm’s long-standing commitment to supporting the communities we work in and serve. “I am very humbled and appreciative of this award,” Steve said. “Lord willing, I have many more years of serving our community.” Congratulations to Steve on this well-deserved honor.
